But since we crawl the web at a pretty staggering speed, the actual age of the page should be very close, if not identical, to our records.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As you can tell from this graph, the average Top10 ranking page is 2+ years old. The <span class=\"caps\">SERP<\/span> is clearly dominated by \u201cold\u201d\u00a0pages.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_long_does_it_take_for_a_page_to_rank_in_Google\"><\/span>How long does it take for a page to rank in Google?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To answer this question, we randomly selected 2 million pages that were first seen by Ahrefs crawler a year\u00a0ago.<\/p>\n<p>We then tracked the position history of each page for any keyword it\u2019s ranked for.<\/p>\n<p>Which resulted in this\u00a0graph:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3834 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-300x220.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"633\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-300x220.webp 300w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-768x563.webp 768w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-466x342.webp 466w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-573x420.webp 573w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-600x440.webp 600w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2-335x246.webp 335w, https:\/\/omaha-seo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/04-ranking-performance-by-DR-2.webp 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 633px) 100vw, 633px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Only 5.7% of all studied pages ranked in the Top10 search results within 1 year for at least 1 keyword.<\/p>\n<p>Pages from websites with a high Domain Rating (<span class=\"caps\">DR<\/span>) performed way better than those with a low <span class=\"caps\">DR<\/span>.
